Core is NaviCare.net’s framework for ease of use, flexibility and enterprise support. Following an earlier product to NaviCare.net, we took all the feedback we had been given about what worked and what didn’t to build a platform that could exceed the expectations of its users in almost everyway.

Ease of use

Core provides a bright interface with standard web like navigation (back, forward, favourites, home) and options that will be familiar to anyone who has ever used Windows XP or Outlook (I want to... bar, module list). Ease of use comes from listening to our customers so we know what they find confusing and then removing it. An example of this is our use of ‘Blades’ which slide out from the side of the screen to capture additional information, then slide back in. These completely replace pop-up windows which our research showed us users found confusing and frequently ‘lost’. Additionally, as an industry specialist we have been able to make intelligent choices on what is needed and what is not so that the interface is not cluttered with lots of options that aren’t relevant to Norwood.

Dashboards

NaviCare.net is built on the principle that if people need to spot something, there is a possibility they can miss it. From the first screen into the modules, your users are presented with dashboards. These are similar to the dashboard in your car, showing you the most important information and highlighting anything that is wrong. As an example, should an assessment or review date be missed in any part of the application, it will ‘bubble up’ to my dashboard if I or someone I manage needs to complete it. And from the dashboard, I can click straight into that assessment to review and sign it off.
Core dashboards also include in-place reports including bar or line charts and the option to include announcements, messages and information from elsewhere in the Core or other modules.

Contacts and messaging

One of the main reasons behind the success of CRM systems has been the recognition that a lot of information companies store is about people. Within NaviCare.net every Service User, Employee, User, Relative, Doctor or person used in the application is also a Contact and is stored in the main address book. This lets you store detailed information about them including multiple phone numbers or addresses as well as assigning anyone a picture or adding notes and attaching documents to their record. More importantly, the system also allows us to examine relationships between contacts – these are automatically created in some areas, such as when assigning GPs to Service Users and can also be manually created by you.

Core also includes a messaging system that provides simple Outlook like functionality without the training required by Outlook. This automatically includes your system users out of the box and can be extended to link into Exchange and your existing email infrastructure
